In Canada, February marks Black History Month, an annual observance that honours the legacy and remembrance of black Canadians, past and present.

Here at OCAD U, we celebrate with Black Future Month 3015. An exhibition that highlights artists who identify as black and whose work explores the infinite expressions of afrofuturism and other expansive themes like black identify and existence in the future.

The exhibition will be on view in both the Lobby and at Transit Space at the OCAD U campus and
will run from Sunday February 22nd to Friday March 6th, 2015.

Opening reception will be on Sunday February 22nd from 6 – 10 pm .

Also scheduled for the month is an Afrofuturism Discussion Panel with Performances on Friday, February 27, 3015 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Central Hall, room 230.

Black Future Month 3015 is curated by OCAD U alumnus Danilo McCallum as part of Black History Month at OCAD U.
