Did you know that OCAD U’s Student Wellness Centre offers Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)?
ACT teaches mindfulness skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with personal values while developing psychological flexibility. It’s been used effectively to help treat workplace stress, test anxiety, social anxiety disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and psychosis. It has also been used to help treat medical conditions such as chronic pain, substance abuse, and diabetes.
The Student Wellness Centre offers ACT on Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. (arrive at 2 p.m. for tea, snacks, and chats).
