Take care of yourself and those close to you

Our webpage, ocadu.ca/coronavirus has detailed information about COVID-19, its symptoms, how to protect yourself and links to reputable sources for information, like our public health agencies.

Additionally, the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH) has posted valuable information on how to maintain your mental health, and coping strategies for managing the anxiety and stress that come with the COVID-19 pandemic.

We also want to remind you that our Student Wellness Centre continues to support your mental health with counselling services through virtual methods.

Prevention is the key to stopping the spread of illness
One of the best ways to prevent the spread of illness is to wash your hands often with soap and water for a least 15 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based sanitizer.

Other measures include staying home if you are ill, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands; avoid close contact with people who are ill; cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands. If you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm, and clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Stay in touch
If you need to talk, please don’t  hesitate to reach out to myself at dfisher@ocadu.ca, to my Manager of Student Communications & Campus Community, Sarah Mulholland at smulholland@ocadu.ca, or any of the units we have listed on our Services & Support for Students page.
