Meet an OCAD U student:

“Hey everyone! My name is Anna Rose Tran (she/her) and I’m a second-year Environmental Design: Interior Design student. I was born and raised in Canada, but recently moved around the end of summer last year to Toronto for school.

I have been sewing clothes since the age of 8, with the dream of becoming a fashion designer when I grew up, so the creation of my small business FortheLoveofAnna in May 2020 was genuinely a dream come true for me. I am very passionate about sustainability and its beneficial impact for the future, thus my main desire in creating my small business was to specialize in custom-made clothing with an overarching focus on promoting slow-fashion, sustainability and combating fast-fashion and mass consumerism. My hope is to bring sustainable fashion to everyone and to celebrate the unique diversity of everyone.

OCAD has such an array of fabrication studios that are accessible which is amazing. So far, I’ve had the opportunity to work in the metalshop and woodshop and I’m for sure looking forward to taking a dip at all the other studios available.

As my first year was primarily online, I can’t wait for more memories, opportunities, and experiences that I’ll be making on campus. I’m excited to meet more of my peers.”
