Black History Month at the Library

February 22nd, 2012 · No Comments · General Posts

There is a new display up for Black History Month.

Entitled “Blacks in Western art and popular culture: past and present”, the books on display look at the changing image of the black person in Western art and popular culture; how the perceptions of the observer (artist) affects the portrayal of the image, and how the depiction of the image has impacted on black people and black artists.

The display is near the photocopiers; the list of books on display can be found here: Blacks in Western art and popular culture.
