Experiment 1

• project title: Hello, folks!

My initial idea was to create an interactive mirror. The mirror is similar to the mirroring art in Persian architecture. But since this was my first interactive project with P5.js, I did not have much knowledge for implementing this project. So I started working. I realized that I could create this mirror using a few simple commands and a webcam. Although in the end, this project was an interactive project, and if you do not look at the code, you may think that is a body-tracking technique. But unfortunately, this project was not related to Experiment 1 and I had to look for another idea. By the way, I liked the result of this experiment. I manipulated the colors to take a little distance from the idea of the mirror. This action created interactive and abstract circles.  I will share the link of this experiment with you below:  https://preview.p5js.org/mehdif2021/present/LRQfkn4mm

My main interactive project is called: Hello folks!
In this experiment, you are faced with a whiteboard that you do not know what the content is inside. With the wave of your hands, the colors flow to the canvas, and finally, the OCAD University logo appears. Since this was our first experiment in the OCAD community, I decided to greet all my friends in this way. Inspired by the rectangular structure of the OCAD logo, I used rectangular dots to create visual harmony. Implicitly, each color is a symbol of an artist and designer. Moreover, these colors show a rainbow of cultural and educational diversity in OCAD.

I created another artwork with the OCAD University logo at the same time. I used the mouse interaction with the screen, the result of which you can see below. The colors appear on the screen with each click and drag.

The character you see below was the first character I created in the early days with P5.JS. I did not intend to use the works of others and I wanted to develop this simple and clumsy character and make it interactive. My original idea came from dancing in front of a mirror or TV. To do that, I first intended to move the character’s shoulders. but I did not succeed. I went for his eyes. In this experiment, the pupils are connected to both sides of your shoulders. As your shoulders move, so do the pupils. You should try to keep the pupils in the center of the eyes. It is very hard work. The only way to get them to their eyes is to dance in front of a screen.

This is a simple experiment where the eyes control the points.
If your head bends around, the circle will also move in the direction of your head. This experiment can be used in games. Where there is silence everywhere and we are not allowed to speak and the only answer is YES or NO. My friends and I used to play this game a lot as children. In this experiment, I encountered a problem such as inverting the font, which after consulting with my friend (Adit), I realized that I had set the scale command to (-1,1) and with his help, I solved this problem.
