Documents of the Body

“Documents of the Body” by Laura Rytkönen

In her own words:

“…You can see the position of the body, hints of the surface of the skin, the moles, scratches, highlights and shadows, but the body remains persistently vague and distant to the eye. The pictures represent the gaze of the insider, the person dancing in the pictures, moving, feeling her body through the movement. The model (the artist) took the pictures with a timer, dancing alone.”
