I used only two elements. By varying their positioning, size, number, level of darkness I can produce an infinite number of possibilities. You also need a frame that your figures can relate to or be cut off by. Without frame there is no composition. The shape of that frame contributes to the composition. Is it square, rectangular, long vertically, long horizontally, circular?

Hello world!

Hello all! Welcome to Figurative Drawing.

This blog will be our place to share images and ideas related to course content. I will post images here before each class as a way to get you thinking about the next day’s activities and/or about longer projects. I hope that you will take the initiative to respond, comment and post your own images related to the subject of discussion. Your contributions to this blog will count towards your participation mark. If you are shy, don’t want to talk in class, think about making a larger contribution here.

I hope you have an excellent semester and I look forward to working with you.
