Exercise 6: Andrew’s Electric Ball

When turned on, streaks of electricity jump around the interior of the sphere. These streaks focus on the point of contact when the sphere is touched. There is no prescribed goal or outcome to the toy. The user derives satisfaction from influencing the visual pattern of the electricity and observing its antics. The toy can also be set to react to sound. It will remain unlit until it picks up on a sound, and will turn off when the sound stops. The user can create a rhythmic lightshow by talking, making patterns of noises, or by playing music.
