CONVERGE is a public lecture; it is programmed and managed by fourth year Photography students. The series presents leading contemporary artists and academics working in photography, film and a variety of other media. All the lectures are open to the public, accessible, and free!
We are bringing in an amazingly talent artist from Brooklyn NY, John Edmonds to do an artist talk on March 1st 2018 from 7-9pm, in Room 307 at the School of Image Arts, and its free to the public as I mentioned before.

Converge Lecture Series would like to invite you to attend the first lecture of 2018 featuring photographic artist John Edmonds from Brooklyn NY.
John Edmonds is an artist working in photography whose practice includes fabric, video, and text. He received his MFA in Photography from Yale University School of Art and his BFA in Photography at the Corcoran School of Arts and Design. Most recognized for his projects in which he focused on the performative gestures and self-fashioning of young black men on the streets of America, he is also known for his portraits of lovers, close friends, and strangers. He has participated in residencies at Light Work, Syracuse, NY; the Center of Photography at Woodstock,Woodstock, New York; FABRICA: The United Colors of Benneton’s Research Center, Treviso, Italy, and The Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, Skowhegan, Maine. Recent Exhibitions include tête-à-tête at David Castillo Gallery, curated by Mickalene Thomas, James Baldwin/Jim Brown & The Children at The Artist’s Institute curated by Hilton Als, and Face to Face at the California African American Museum. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York and is represented by ltd los angeles
