Call for Papers– University of Toronto Anthropology Graduate Conference

Happy new year!

I am a graduate student at the University of Toronto writing to you on behalf of the Anthropology Graduate Student Union (AGSU). We are now inviting submissions for the 7th annual Medusa Graduate Conference. The conference will take place on Thursday, March 5thth and Friday, March 6th, 2020 in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto, St. George campus.

I have attached this year’s call for papers to this message. Could you please distribute it to students in your department at your earliest convenience? The theme of Medusa 2020 is “Care” We encourage inventive and thought-provoking submissions of quality graduate student research. Applicants working in all sub-disciplines of anthropology and related fields are welcome to apply. Our committee gratefully receives all submissions, but especially those that creatively engage with, problematize, and reflect on themes of care, balance, attention, space, neoliberal notions of care, fieldwork, methodology, ethics, healing, burden, reciprocity, intimacy, slowness, and affect.

We ask that interested applicants submit an abstract of no more than 300 words to medusaconference@gmail.com by Monday, January 27th, 2020.

Please refer to the attached call for papers for more details. In the instance that you require further clarification, please contact medusaconference@gmail.com.
