Five (5) emerging artists, each representing a different artistic practice, providing a diversity of artistic voices and approaches to be showcased in the commissioning program. Working under the guidance of a Curatorial Coordinator and responding to a client creative brief, each artist will be commissioned to produce approximately four (4) original artworks over the course of a 12-month period. Artists will receive $1,200 per commissioned work.

The NEO Commissioning Program is seeking a Curatorial Coordinator to support commissioning-related activities and act as a liaison; leading communications between participating artists, NEO Exchange and its listing clients. $5,000 one-time project fee.

The Curatorial Assistant will work directly with artists, guest curators, artist-educators, designers, and Gallery 44 staff. This 30-hour per week position will run from March 9 to June 26, 2020. The role is positioned to offer an emerging curator an opportunity to gain hands-on, working knowledge of exhibitions, publications, public and educational programs, in a fast-paced environment, and amongst a collegial staff-team of five early-career arts professionals.
