Canadian Tire Jumpstart x OCAD U: Call for Artworks

Deadline: Oct 9, 2020

http://bit.ly/canadiantirecfs

OCAD U is excited to partner with Canadian Tire Corporation to create an exclusive call for submissions for members of the OCAD U community. This call for artworks is a new initiative that will commission five new works created by OCAD U students/alumni in support of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. These commissioned artworks will be auctioned in September 2021 at the annual Canadian Tire Dealers Convention, benefiting Jumpstart Charities, which helps kids overcome barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities. Individual project grants of $2,000 each will be awarded to OCAD U affiliated artists by a jury made up of Canadian Tire and OCAD U representatives. Recipients will be selected on the basis of a short, written proposal and the strength of a portfolio of existing work.

2020 Partial Gallery Submissions

Deadline: Oct 30

Career opportunity for OCAD U student artists and recent alumni (2020). 40 selected artists will be given complimentary 1 year Pro Accounts on Partial and inclusion as featured artists within the  OCAD University Artist Showcase on Partial’s online platform in order to showcase their works, and administrate artwork sales and rentals. Might be helpful for artists who want to sell their work but aren’t sure how or want some assistance with creating a platform. Some stats from our first year can be found here.

Big Art TO

Deadline: Oct 30

Seeking up to seven artists or creative teams to create new projects, or to reiterate existing works for site-specific temporary public art projections. We ask artists to consider ideas of community, reflection and inclusion in our time of change and social unrest. OCAD U and The City of Toronto invite artists or artist teams residing in Toronto to submit their credentials, examples of prior experience and conceptual approaches (film, animation, photographs, multimedia works) for outdoor projection, as part of the ongoing public art initiative BigArtTO. Not limited to OCAD U grads or students.

ArtWorksTO – Invitation to Submit Projects
Deadline: Oct 30

Opportunity to host an ArtWorksTO contract opportunity for an IBPOC and/or 2SLGBTQ+ youth media artist to create communications materials (short videos, info graphics, posters, social media strategies, etc.) for your programs or services.  Costs of up to $12,000 per project are covered by ArtWorksTO (for a total of $100,000 worth of contracts). I’m not sure if OCAD U departments can apply as the University is a partner, but perhaps worthwhile for any external groups you might be working with who are seeking Comms skills. See attached.
