OCAD U’s 2022 Inclusive Design (MDes) cohort invites everyone to explore Elements of Inclusion: Elements of Inclusion: A Journey Through Inclusive Design in Practice, an interactive virtual exhibition featuring preliminary research reflecting the diverse and inclusive practices of the featured cohort.
The virtual exhibition will include an introduction to Inclusive Design, the unprecedented cohort and their individual research topics. Visitors are encouraged to support and advance the cohort’s efforts by responding to the visitor experience surveys, which have been integrated into the virtual exhibition platform.
Join in the journey through inclusive design in practice:
The cohort is entering their second year of study and are excited to present their preliminary work in preparation for their emerging Major Research Projects (MRP). Through their 2021 summer studio, the students have been exploring the interrelationships of inclusive design theory and methods with art, design and communication. Guided by their professors, guest speakers from the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and Surrey Place, preliminary research, and literature reviews, the cohort has considered what it means to communicate a group exhibition in a meaningful and inclusive way.
