The Art History Graduate Student’s Society (AHGSS) is pleased to announce the eighth edition of RENDER, an interdisciplinary graduate journal centered around the study of art and visual culture. In an effort to grow the journal’s breadth and scope, this year’s edition will expand to showcase quality graduate work in a variety of disciplines from Canadian Graduate students. Submissions may include exhibition reviews, academic papers or articles and original art or video work in disciplines ranging from art history, film studies, cultural studies, visual communication, cultural mediations and digital humanities. RENDER, in association with Carleton University’s Art History Graduate Students’ Society, is an online student-run publication dedicated to the dissemination of ideas rooted in visual culture. Recognizing that academic work can often be an isolated process, it is the purpose of the journal to provide graduate students with an open forum to circulate their ideas to a wider audience. Please circulate to your students the attached CFP. The deadline for submissions is May 3 2020. Please note that images may not be included in the journal for copyright purposes (original artwork is an exception). Submissions may be sent to rendergraduatejournal@gmail.com for consideration.
