And I would like to explain how McDonald’s started to use the Golden Arches for their Logo and became most effective and famous symbol of the global fast food restaurant chain.

So, history of McDonald’s is starting from here.

In 1940, the Richard McDonald and Maurice McDonald, these two brothers relocated the restaurant to San Bernardino and was named after the brother’s last name; “McDonald’s”.

After it got successful, they got compelled to change the architect of restaurant.

Two brothers wanted to create distinctive building design that would make their restaurant stand out and advertises itself. And Stanley Clark became architecture of the building, it was when the Golden Arches were created which later became the imagery of world’s famous McDonald’s logo.

It was starting to get rapid growing when Ray Kroc joined the company who is the salesperson by profession. He became the franchise manger under his leadership and marketing skill in 1955 then spread the business in every part of the country. By 1968, McDonald’s has more than 1,000 restaurants operating in the US and opened restaurant facilities in other countries in the next few decades.

McDonald’s historical behind story is very interesting to know about, but not only that McDonald’s “M” is visually very effective by its shape and colour. For the shape, it is from newly constructed architecture of the first franchised restaurant in 1952. Ray Kroc- incorporated the two arches from the new McDonald’s logo that looks like the letter “M” in 1961 and the newest logo is still remained the same as a brand identity. For the colour, gold(yellow) and red are their symbolic colour for the logo which is primary colour. Therefore, it stands out very clearly, and easy to recognize from everyone because of the attractive red and gold(yellow) colour and single alphabet “M” McDonald’s logo appears on their restaurant’s, advertising, and packaging, so it is one of the most frequently viewed logos. Despite a few slight alterations, McDonald’s has retained the same iconic shape for over fifty years. The logo’s bright colours work well at encouraging food cravings anytime.
