Peer Mentor recruitment for the coming 2019/2020 year has concluded.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a “buddy” for a new incoming student
—a Peer Mentor—in the OCAD U 2020/2021 Student Mentor Program!

TO BECOME A 2020/2021 PEER MENTOR, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
STEP 1: Apply!
Review the details and then complete and submit the online Peer Mentor Application.
Students interested in becoming Peer Mentors must have satisfactory academic standing, consistently achieving a minimum of 60% each session.
Deadline to apply: anytime before Friday, April 3, 2020.
STEP 2: Meet and discuss your interest!
After filling in the online participation form, watch your OCAD U email for confirmation of receipt of your application. Successful applicants will be required to attend a meeting (one-to-one or group options available) to discuss your interest and ask questions.
Deadline to meet: by Friday, April 10, 2020.
STEP 3: Review these Peer Mentor Principles pages!
Navigate the pages of this blog in order, using the links in the top banner. Review the content on each page (20 to 30 minutes each), complete the AODA modules (if you haven’t already in another capacity) and then complete the brief Module 1 and Module 2 “Apply your Knowledge” quizzes. Feel free to review this information anytime!
Deadline to complete the modules and quizzes: by Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
STEP 4: Attend the In-person support/training day!
Participants are required to make a one-day commitment and attend the In-Person PEER MENTOR PRINCIPLES* Support/Training Day (includes snacks and lunch):
- Wednesday, April 22, 2020 (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM)*
*NOTE: the In-Person Support/Training Day is always scheduled the first business day immediately following Formal Assessment Period, which at the end of winter term 2020 is Monday, April 6 to Tuesday, April 21. Student attendance is required.
