Thank you for your interest in becoming an undergraduate Peer Mentor—a friend or “buddy”—to a new incoming undergraduate student. Welcome and assist them with their transition to OCAD U—remotely and in-person—through summer and fall 2022 in OCAD U’s Student Mentor Program!

TO BECOME A 2023/2024 PEER MENTOR, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
STEP 1: Apply!
Review the details and then complete and submit the online Peer Mentor Application.
Students interested in becoming Peer Mentors must have satisfactory academic standing, consistently achieving a minimum of 60% each session.
Deadline to apply: Friday, April 14, 2021.
STEP 2: “Meet” and discuss your interest!
Once you have applied, watch your OCAD U email for confirmation of receipt of your application and an invitation to schedule a meeting to discuss your interest (in-person or Microsoft Teams).

Review the content on each page (20 to 30 minutes each), complete the AODA modules (if you haven’t already in another capacity) and then complete the brief Module 1 and Module 2 “Apply your Knowledge” quizzes. Feel free to review this information anytime!

AODA
If you have not yet completed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) training (in another capacity on- or off-campus), you are responsible for completing Module 03 as well.
STEP 4: Live support/training workshops
In addition to the online modules (Step 3), new Peer Mentors are required to attend/participate in additional support and training workshops* on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
NOTE: the In-Person Support/Training Day is always scheduled the first business day immediately following Formal Assessment Period for winter term, which in 2023 is Friday, April 10 to 21).
