Joi T. Arcand is a photo-based artist currently at OCADU as the Nigig Visiting Artist in the Indigenous Visual Culture Program. She will be speaking about her work in the Photo Thesis class on Friday, November 10 at 9:30.

Joi T. Arcand is from Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in central Saskatchewan (Treaty 6 Territory) and is currently based in Ottawa. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2005, and has exhibited across Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2006 she co-founded The Red Shift Gallery, a contemporary Indigenous art gallery in Saskatoon. In 2012, she created kimiwan ‘zine, a magazine for Indigenous artists and writers.

This is an opportunity to meet with a war correspondent and photojournalist who graduated from OCA Photography and has built an intense, award-winning career. He is now on assignment for National Geographic and will be photographing in the Arctic.
