Welcome to Group V’s website. On this blog we will be looking critically at three major aspects of The History of Typography;  Aesthetic Trends, Political Methods, and New Print Technologies that emerged in the 1960s. The purpose of this analysis will be to  discuss how these areas interact with one another to create new possibilities for technically mediated, mass produced visual language.

In each of our subcategories we will use typographic related case examples, discussed throughout the course, that relate directly to this discussion. Some of the examples we will discuss will be Pastiche, Phototypography and Desktop Publishing. Throughout this course, and this exercise we explore how these various methods and developments relate to each other in the History and Evolution of Typography.
