In the past two weeks, I have interviewed 9 people who work part-time or full-time in the professional design field
I got feedbacks that I was expecting, which proves that the problem I was trying to solve exists for most people. But I also got some unexcepted answers:
The way that people prefer to take breaks differs; some of them take regular short breaks between work while some of them like to keep working until finishing their work and then take a long break because they worry that taking breaks might affect their workflow. The activities that they like to do during breaks differ as well.
I think this is a good challenge for me to design breaks that are flexible and can satisfy most people. Maybe I can design multiple “break templates” which can be personalized according to one’s work habit and personality, and relates these breaks to their workflow.
