Meet a 2021 Peer Mentor:

Hi, my name is Diane Galapon (she/her) and I just finished first year of the Illustration program. This is also my first year being a Peer Mentor. I was a Mentee and now want to help new students the way I was given guidance throughout my first year. I am currently living in Scarborough, Ontario.

My interests vary quite often and I base my work on what makes me happy in the present time. But, to produce relatable, raw, yet visually pleasing illustrations is what I’m currently striving for. It’s been a struggle due to COVID and the lack of inspiration indoors. However, I believe I can achieve a better understanding of myself and what I want to create in a post-COVID-19 world where I can go out, collaborate with different artists, connect with amazing people, and learn from them as well.

I’m looking forward to an Exchange Program I want to take part in next year. I think it would be a one-of-a-kind experience that will help me grow as an artist and a better person overall.
