Hi! I’m Simrah Mahmood (she/her). I am going into my fourth year of Industrial Design and am currently living in Toronto. My design work focuses on scientific research and exploration for user experiences. My work is dedicated to enhancing Health/Wellness services and products with design empathy and ergonomics.
As a designer who intertwines science and creativity to make memorable experiences, I want to inspire girls to dream big and never limit their curiosity or capabilities. On my own time, I design custom jewelry and take orders for international painting commissions
I am looking forward to developing my entrepreneurial and networking skills. I really like meeting new people and discovering hidden talents that can be collaborated towards a greater purpose. One thing remote learning taught me is that design is always evolving and adapting. Designers are empowered with opportunity to set new trends, innovate and create change in a given system. As our learning methods were being adapted, I learnt how to welcome the new and appreciate the old experiences. In the future, I look forward to becoming a UX researcher for medical design, working side by side with doctors and patients.
