Meet a 2021 Peer Mentor:
“Hi friends! I work under the alias Jacklyn Freeburn (they/she). This is my first experience as a Peer Mentor and an opportunity to grow into the kind of friend that my inner first-year student would be proud of. In my program, Life Studies, we practise the values of mentorship through collaboration across program levels, which I find creatively generating.
Life Studies has expanded my work into the realm of self-mythology and creative research. I use video to combine my writing, drawing, music, and performance skills into a series of magical investigations. Sensation, perception, and interaction are some of the powers that I tap into for transforming my experience. One day, I plan to develop these skills into educational media.

“5 Years” by Jacklyn Forgie
Sharing adventures with new people attracted me to making art in this city. As an entertainer, I look forward to feeling the energy of celebration in a crowd once again. Hopefully in the future this will look like respect for each other’s comfort, equity, and unique knowledge.”
