“Computerface” by Melissa Clark is a body of work that revolves around the ever-increasing integration of electronic displays and the less apparent nature of our facial responses amidst the interaction between the two.
In her own words:
“I am interested in people’s expressions within situations where they usually would not be photographed. Although the subjects knew I was there, none of them were posing for the camera. This body of work is a document of how we appear behind our screens. It speaks to the multi-purpose uses of our computers and televisions and how they have become a constant source of attention for so many people. I am interested in how the amount of time we spend with computers for communication may affect our daily communication in social settings.”
