Split Provocative

“Split Provocative” by Joan Wilson

In her own words:

“Each photograph is comprised of two different photographs, one having been taken by myself, and the other taken from the model’s portfolio online. This was done to convey the two different ‘elements’ of each model, the juxtaposition between their everyday selves and their performative selves. The enlargement and degradation of the low-resolution online images was a deliberate element intended to reference the source of the images, and the fact that these photographs of the girls are online for public viewing and appropriating.”
