  • STUDIO CLEAN OUT INFORMATION

Dear Students,

A large dumpster for waste disposal will be available to you from May 8 until noon on May 12 in the back driveway of 205 Richmond St West. As per the Studio Space and Agreement policy, all graduate students are responsible for removing any/all items brought into any shared/individual studio space on campus. Please make use of this waste disposal unit as needed.

 

Students who wish to dispose of larger items should consult with their Graduate Program Coordinator about getting access to the Freight elevator.

 

  • SPRING/SUMMER REGISTRATION 


Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 3 registration for the 2014 Spring/Summer semester is available 23 hours a day until the published deadlines.

  • THE MAKER LAB (Fabrication Space)  7th Floor of 205 Richmond (7714)!

The Maker Lab’s Spring/Summer Hours:

May 2014: Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11:00AM to 7:00PM until May 31, 2014.

June to August 2014: Tuesday from 11:00AM to 7:00PM (with Wednesday pending confirmation)

We are pleased to announce the spring/summer hours of the Maker Lab (fabrication space) at 205 Richmond (7th floor, room 7714).

The Maker Lab will be open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until the end of May, 2014.  For the remainder of the summer months, the Maker Lab will continue to be open every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (with Wednesdays pending confirmation) until August 20, 2014.

We are grateful to retain the support and assistance of Kait Wilson (kwilson@faculty.ocadu.ca) during the spring/summer session. Training and access request can continue to be sent to researchresources@ocadu.ca.

We appreciate any feedback you may have, please feel free to share with Kait.

The Maker Lab

The Maker Lab is part of the Digital Media Research & Innovation Institute (DMRII).  It has been funded by various research-related projects and capital funding.  As an OCAD U graduate student, you will be able to use this new shared space in support of your research and course-related art-making, fabrication and prototyping work.

Available Resources

In the Maker Lab you will be able to access two soldering stations, be able to glue and apply coatings, work with wood, metals and plastics. The lab is equipped with drill press, band saw, circular saw, soldering tools, hand tools and other resources. We will continue to add tools and equipment over the coming weeks.

  • WRITING AND LEARNING CENTRE

Tutoring: One-on-one  45 minute, tutoring sessions with peer tutors.

Appointments made through phone (416-977-6000, ext. 229), email (wlc@ocadu.ca) or in person.                                                                                         

Drop-in: 15 minute consultations with peer tutors. Please bring focused questions to sessions. No appointments necessary

Open Study Space: Room available for independent, quiet work on course assignments.
