“Elders and Memory: A research study with geriatric outpatients with early stage Alzheimer’s Disease at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute”
You are invited to participate in a research study at the Ontario College of Art & Design University, 205 Richmond St. West in the Mobile Experience Lab. The study is a preliminary study for the full study called, “Elders and Memory: A research study with geriatric outpatients with early stage Alzheimer’s Disease at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute”. You will create, share, and receive digital or physical postcards from your family, friends and/or caregiver with a touchscreen tablet application called, “Postcard Memories”. We would like you to share your experiences of using the application in a follow-up interview and short 10-question survey.
Your decision to participate or not will not affect your studies at the Ontario College of Art & Design University (OCADU), and the research team will not have any knowledge of who decides to participate or not in the study. Only the Principal Investigator, Dr. Martha Ladly will know who agrees to participate.
To be eligible for this study, you must:
- Be 19 years old or older
- Be fluent in English
- Be able to travel to OCAD University, at 205 Richmond St. West in the Mobile Experience Lab
- Be available between June 1-August 8, 2014 for 5 (1 hour max) sessions total
- Be able to give informed consent to participate
