- IxDA Toronto and Service Design Toronto present: Understanding the Value of Service Design
WHEN: Thursday, 13 November 2014: Doors open at 6:30 p.m., panel at 7:00.
WHERE: CSI-Annex / 720 Bathurst St.
Service Design Toronto and IxDA Toronto will co-host a panel discussion on the value of service design, from both client and practitioner perspectives.
What is service design? It’s the practice of using design principles to facilitate interactions between service providers and users in complex infrastructures, systems, and processes. (Usability Matters)
While disciplines such as interaction design, graphic design and industrial design are widely celebrated, the newer field of service design receives much less acclaim. This session will aim to give you real-life examples of how service design is being applied in Toronto and beyond. A panel of both clients and practitioners will discuss service design’s application to business. This will help you to sell and implement service design, and to remove roadblocks along the way.
