Position Description:

Support the service policy innovation process and event activities of the Industry Canada Service Lab by performing research on assigned topics, supporting design sessions, drafting papers, documenting projects and other duties related to lab operations.

Primary Duties:

  • Undertake research assignments
  • Support group activities in innovative design
  • Prepare communication pieces on events in the Service Lab
  • Assist in the organization of events in the Service Lab
  • Organize outreach (meetings) between Service Lab Personnel and potential clients for the Service Lab
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks

Additional Information:

The student would be a member of a small team that is launching the Service Lab which is one of a number of policy innovation labs recently established in the Federal Government. The student would be under the formal supervision and mentoring of one manager, but have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the team to gain varied experience.  In addition, training opportunities are often available, including computer applications, sector/market seminars, and professional development classes.
