In this lecture Dr. Lauder draws upon his recently published book “Out of School” to excavate the long history of information art associated with the Toronto School of Communication, a network of visionary media thinkers centred on the University of Toronto in the mid-twentieth century that included Marshall McLuhan.

Adam Lauder graduated with a Ph.D. from the Department of Art History at the University of Toronto in 2016. Lauder researches the long history of digitality, with a non-exclusive regional focus on the lands now known as Canada.
