OCADU Zine Fair

The 9th annual OCADU Zine Fair is this Wednesday and Thursday in the lobby of 100 McCaul!

Stop by to see work by students and local zine makers including work by Sabrina Tu, Wenting Li, Danielle-Leigh Bogle, Christopher Morro and from collectives such as Grounders Magazine and the Okay Collective (pictured below).

TEXThibit: Reading Event & Reception

The Learning Zone shares highlights from our night of readings by students within the OCAD U community with a few of the exhibiting artists from the TEXThibit Exhibition: A Visual Display of Creative Writing.

The reading event and reception was held Tuesday February 28.

Thanks to all the participants, the evening was enjoyed by all.

Library Services Learning Zone open until April 21 & returning spring/summer semester

Congratulations students! You are nearly at the finish line. The winter semester is winding down and preparations for GradEx: OCAD U’s 101st Annual Graduate Exhibition are gearing up!

There are plenty of events and exhibitions happening on campus, so please be sure to check out OCAD U’s event calendar.

Drop by the Learning Zone this week not only to study or to meet-up with your cohorts between exams—we are hosting events and exhibitions until we close April 21. We will reopen for the spring/summer term.

OCAD University Creative Writing Presents National Poetry Month Reading April 19

Celebrate National Poetry Month and join OCAD University’s Creative Writing Presents: National Poetry Month Reading at Library Services Learning Zone Tuesday April 19 from 7 p.m. to 10 pm.

OCAD Seed Library

Although the first day of spring began March 20, it only now feels like spring. With the warmer temperatures and the sun shining, gardening is now on the mind of many. Visit the OCAD Seed Library in partnership with the Toronto Seed Library and check out a few seeds, sprout a plant, harvest some seeds and return new seeds to the seed library.

The OCAD Zine Library presents New Student Zines. At the OCAD Zine Library there is something for everybody and also an awesome space to read zines and take a restorative break from studying.

Honouring Black History Month @ OCAD Zine Library

Black History Month 2016, OCAD Zine Library display

OCAD Zine Library Black History Month display features a collection of insightful zines that educate, provoke, heal and challenge.

Black Fractals, the official 2016 Black History Month Program at OCAD University celebrates from February 3 to February 20, with exhibitions and events held in the Lobby of 100 McCaul Street and the Ada Slaight Gallery Space (Transit Space) including The Graduate Gallery at 205 Richmond Street West.

Four exhibitions are planned; Black Future Month 3016: 4th Annual Afrofuturism Art Exhibition, Pixelation Art Exhibition, Call & Response Conference and Piece of Mine Festival: Black Men in Theater.

Blast Off: Opening reception for Black Future Month 3016: 4th Annual Afrofuturism Art Exhibition will be held Wednesday February 3rd at the Graduate Gallery, 205 Richmond Street West. http://bit.ly/1UBJ915
